Salinger and the genesis of his exceptional novel <em>The Catcher in the Rye<\/em>, film critic Carrie Rickey states that \u00abfew movie genres are more challenging to the filmmaker than the literary biopic\u00bb (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.truthdig.com\/articles\/rebel-rye-uneven-portrait-j-d-salinger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Truthdig<\/em><\/a>, 8. Sept. 2017). On the whole, she finds the movie \u00absingularly un-cinematic\u00bb and points out that \u00abstruggling for a new angle on the writer at his instrument, Strong puts the camera under Salinger\u2019s typewriter, framing the writer\u2019s face through the keys.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Not quite true.
